Whether you are hosting or attending a small party or gathering at 1893 on Lee, relax, celebrate or mingle between any of the five large rooms off of the entrance foyer.
Walk through the French doors to the east garden and step onto the large deck that wraps around the front of the home and overlooks the stone patio, pergola and water fountain.
In 1893, marrying Ms. Lillian Harcourt, Wallace B. Wells built this house on land given to them by her father, Mr. J. T. Harcourt. It became known as the “W.B. Wells Place”.
J. C. & Mellie Massey purchased the house in 1914, the same year Mr. Massey went to work managing Cotten-Bratton Furniture & Funeral Home, after the passing of Mr. J. T. Cotten. The house remained in the Massey family until 1971, when Frank and Marie Felmey purchased it.
When Tom and Becky Tenseth purchased it in 2019, they began updates to the interior and reconstructed the grounds with brick work, lamp posts, a pergola and a fountain on the east lawn. They have now acquired, what they call, the “sister house” which sits beyond the east lawn and is used as lodging.
